    GWC Warranty plans

GWC Warranty offers two coverage plans for new or used vehicles: Exclusionary Coverage and Stated Component Coverage. Plans are transferable if you decide to sell the vehicle, and information on renewals and upgrades is available through the company’s website.

    Exclusionary Coverage
With Exclusionary Coverage, you can expect to receive:
    • Protection for hundreds of components (similar to a factory warranty)
    • Coverage for vehicles with as many as 150,000 miles
    • Optional upgrades, like navigation system coverage
    Stated Component Coverage
With Stated Component Coverage, you can expect to receive:
    • Mechanical breakdown coverage, including parts and labor
    • Coverage for vehicles with as many as 200,000 miles
    • 24/7 roadside assistance
    • Rental transportation
    • Optional upgrades, like navigation system coverage

    GWC Warranty coverage

GWC Warranty plans are only available at certain dealerships and can cover vehicles with anywhere from 0 to 200,000 miles. There is no waiting period, which means you're covered the moment you drive off the lot instead of having to wait 30 to 60 days to make a claim.

Premium reimbursements for towing, trip interruption and rental car use are available in additional packages. Most plans from GWC Warranty include basic towing reimbursements for no additional fee. GWC Warranty has 3,000 preferred service facilities across the country.

    GWC Warranty cost

Prices from GWC Warranty are not available on its website. This is common among extended auto warranty companies. If you want a firm price, it’s best to reach out to your local dealership to get a quote. GWC Warranty does not sell its plans directly to the public.

GWC Warranty will cover all costs for repairs, minus the deductible. Customers can take their vehicle to the licensed repair facility of their choice. All they have to do is have the repair facility contact GWC Warranty, and GWC Warranty will pay for the repairs (minus the deductible). GWC Warranty can also help customers find a repair shop nearby.

Optional upgrades, like sensor packages, technology packages and luxury packages, cost extra. GWC Warranty’s "No Worries, Just Drive" package also costs extra but includes zero deductible and zero transfer fee, enhanced rental car and travel reimbursements and other benefits like a $25 gas card and complimentary windshield repair.

How many plans does GWC Warranty offer?

GWC Warranty offers two coverage options. Exclusionary Coverage is available for vehicles with mileages as high as 150,000. Stated Component Coverage is available for vehicles with under 200,000 miles.

Can I purchase a warranty contract from GWC Warranty directly?

No, GWC Warranty works directly with authorized dealerships across the United States and does not sell directly to the public. If you have recently purchased a vehicle or are looking to purchase a vehicle soon, check if GWC vehicle service contracts are available near you.

    Is GWC Warranty good?

GWC Warranty is a good option for new or used car buyers looking for a customizable plan for their car. GWC Warranty will cover cars with up to 200,000 miles. Another huge plus is that the extended auto warranty coverage kicks in as soon as the car is purchased, so there's no wait. I bought a $3,000 policy with this company almost three years ago. The policy was for 3 years or 125, 511 miles/Used/Luxury Package. I recently brought it in a little under my mileage (around 110,000) for what came to be a temperature control issue. I called to ask about what the coverage would be for a rental car, twice. Both times I was told $50 a day or up to $250. Since I had to front the money, and the hard fact that money is extremely tight, I rented a car for only three days. It came to $187. I brought my car in on a Tuesday, this company didn't approve work until the last minute on Friday. Mind you, the car was evaluated the same day it was brought in. Parts had to be ordered and by the time they came in and work was done, my car wasn't finished until the following Thursday.

In case you're not following, I only had a rental car for three days out of a week that was covered due to their policy AND their lack of speed in approval. I come to find out, this company didn't pay for the whole job. It cost $347 to fix the temperature control issue and I had to pay out of pocket $143. I finally received my check for the reimbursement today, over a month later, and it's only for $150. When I called to ask why, I was told to look at my policy and that it reads: $50 a day OR up to five days for a total of $250.

If I could insert an emoji with curse words here, I would. I told the man I was speaking to, who may or may not have been a manager liked I asked, that it was despicable. So, the conclusion is that after three years and a $3,000 policy, I had to pay $358 for a job that cost $534. What other word would you use to describe this experience??? I'm tired of people/companies acting like cow dung and it just being ok. It's not. Good luck to those of you looking at this company. Blessings, Julia

We finished a work on a customer car, since we started the diagnostic, we mentioned to the company we only take checks. So, we submitted the forms to get paid. At the end of the work, we submitted the invoice and waited to get paid, after a month of keep calling I was told they never received the form for the check payment, so I resubmitted. I waited another month, they said the check was mailed, but since I haven't received it yet, they will cancel the check and reissued another one. Waited another month and nothing, this time they said because they reissued a card payment and then they had to reissue a check, the process is taking longer. I told them I heard so many stories so far, cancel the check and pay me with a credit card, and she said I will have to wait 30 days for them to cancel the check and reissue a new one.

So I'm being told more pics is needed. At this point I request for a adjuster to be sent out. Pictures is not going to help. The axle is bad and there is no visual signs, and if there were it wouldn't be covered. If the boot is ripped or torn it's not covered, if the axle is completely broken it's not covered. But if it's bad and all boots are intact it suppose to be covered. The warranty is making all kinds of excuses to not pay. The rack and pinion is leaking fluid, they are saying that they need to see where it's leaking from. The pics clearly show it's leaking from the boot.

In the warranty there is nothing stating if the rack is leaking it's not covered. So I do not understand why they making this a big issue. This is a trusted shop they recommended on their website, and even to work with them you're giving them a hard time as well as just fixing the issue with the van. At this point, the van has been there going on 5 days and all has been is wasted time and emails. I will not pay for the axle or the rack and pinion. The vehicle will stay there until GWC fix it. It’s ridiculous that they do this to so many people and get away with it.

My car broke down on 7/27/23 and had to be towed to the dealership. They said the engine was no good and that they would replace it. After 4 weeks GWC sent a used engine to the repair facility and when they uncrated it, the mechanic stated that it looked like someone used a hammer and a crowbar to remove the engine from the previous vehicle. GWC adjusters have spent the last two weeks "reviewing their options", and when I call in to the office, the customer service representative always says that the adjusters are out and can't take my call.

I bought an expensive Chevrolet Diesel truck used at a dealership. I am a veteran, and retired public safety person. This truck was going to be my last truck I was probably ever going to buy. I have had the truck for about one year. It started to throw the check engine light and the code revealed the EGR bypass valve was going bad. This was actually a service bulletin from GM to be replaced but the previous owners did not have that done. (Not my fault.) I paid the $4500.00 for the extended "platinum," lol warranty because as this was my retirement truck. I wanted to make sure I had peace of mind as GWC says in their fish hook line, "no Worries. Just drive." Yeah.

Well I take it to my local Chevrolet dealership because they Know the trucks right? They say, "We will call the warranty company and get it figured out." I leave it a couple days and today I get a call from the service manager saying GWC said they don't cover the EGR valve or any of the parts... NO WORRIES? I should've just kept the 4500.00 dollars and placed it in an account to use when issues came up. The truck has just over 100k on it now. So I am left with nothing and nowhere to turn. I called the GWC representative. I explained exclusionary coverages and he said, "We don't cover these items." I said so when the coolant leaks into the chambers and destroys the engine I'm just out another 15 K to buy an engine since you won't cover the repairs? He said yes since the EGR is not specifically named in the contract they don't cover it.

There's a lot in a vehicle that isn't specifically identified. My plan says pistons and crankshaft but nothing about connecting rods or connecting rod bolts. So if the crankshaft decides to spit a connecting rod and the bolt breaks off is it not covered as being replaced because the specific part being the connecting rod bolt is in ink?? Makes no sense. Seems like a lawyer needs to get involved. Bottom line is this Americans. When your gut says things are too good to be true, don't fall for the sales pitch! GWC and their warranty means nothing more than taking your hard earned money to line their pockets as well as nothing more than a great tagline to make you feel you're covered.

This company false advertised their warranty policy and did not pay for all issues with my vehicle even when the the policy said it was covered. Beware!! They will find any and every reason not to make a payout under a claim. I was left responsible to pay out of pocket for things they decided not to cover even though the policy says they should. The customer service department lied to us on several occasions, and is only about finding a way to not cover your claim! I got scammed into buying this warranty.

Took my truck 2016 Ford f350 diesel to the dealer for a bad fuel injector problem, they wanted 2300 dollars to repair the truck, I gave them all the info for the warranty claim, the next day I get a call from ford that the dealer, GWC won't cover the fuel injector, I asked why, I was told it's not covered on my plan, I paid over 5 grand for the extended warranty and I can't get a simple fuel injector covered... Needless to say I had to pay the 2300 dollars to repair it, so what was the point of a extended warranty that won't cover a fuel injector?

It's been 3 month I trying to get an answer regarding my claim. My engine needs to be replace and this fixing is covered but they don't want to pay the $10 000 the repair shop is asking. So they never give us an answer and my car is dying at the repair shop. They sent 2 times an expert and my claim doesn't move forward. This company is not a scam but is very close to it. You pay for a service that you will never get. Be careful and never contract with them.

There website says all parts connected to the wheels to make car go yet when you have a bad wheel hub they say it's not covered. Hmm. As far as I know no hub no go so I short over $300 out of pocket. Oil pump 3k. Would only cover 1500. So ya my pocket again. Now my transmission went. They had shop do their leg work and send photos, get estimates and now they're saying that's touch and wanna send out an inspector. Sure I've only been bumming rides to work for 3 weeks so now what's another few days until someone inspects and then another ** excuse I'm sure. 3k for a warranty that in the last 12 months has fought tooth and nail not to pay. In short not looking forward to their excuse on 4/17/23. Keep in mind I have only had the vehicle for 1 year and have spent over 4k out of pocket.

Used car dealer said he's used GWC for 20 years and that they were the best. God helps us all if this trainwreck of a scammer is the best. Towed my 2006 SRX into garage#1 at the end of 11/2022 with a cylinder misfire in two cylinders. Mechanic said get a rebuilt engine because the warranty company would not be worth the grief and GWC will nickel and dime them and not authorize the right way to repair. He passed on taking the job. I tried two other good garages who turned down the work as well.

In December, truck was towed to a 5-Star garage with 10 bays and a machine shop that specializes in rebuilding engines. Garage #2 said the same thing about car warranty companies but they relented after I begged and took the truck in. It is now the end of March 2023. Garage#2 spent weeks trying to contact GWC and it took 17 phone calls to finally get through. This 5 star garage says GWC is the worst company they have ever worked with. Truck needs timing chain and valve job. Garage says it's a $6,000 job at a shop rate of $155/hr. GWC says they only pay a labor rate of $11 and claim the will only authorize 5.7 hrs while the garage says it will take 9.6 hrs. GWC says they will only pay $4,100 and GWC will NOT pay for oil, filter, a few bolts and 3 actuators. I have been without the vehicle for 4 months and it is still not fixed. GWC should change motto to: "Worry! Get used to walking and hire an attorney."
